Is it really free?
Yes — free forever, no trial, no credit card required. The free plan includes up to 3 income streams, 2 goals, and basic analytics covering today, this week, the current month, the previous month, and the last 14 days. Premium unlocks unlimited streams, unlimited goals, complete history, advanced analytics, and data export — at $2.99/month or $26.99/year (save 25%). A 14-day free trial is included when you first upgrade.
Is SideStream available on iOS?
Android only right now, available on Google Play. iOS is in development. Send us your email and we'll let you know as soon as it launches.
Does it connect to my bank?
No — and that's intentional. SideStream is fully manual. You log income and expenses when they happen. No bank connections, no read access to your accounts, no sensitive financial credentials stored. Your data stays yours.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes — a free account is required to use SideStream. Sign up with your email or Google. This allows your data to sync securely across devices and be backed up in the cloud.
What currencies does SideStream support?
SideStream displays amounts in your local currency format. You log whatever numbers you earn — the app doesn't do currency conversion, so just use whichever currency your income arrives in.

How do income streams work?
Each stream represents one income source — give it a name and an optional monthly target. Log entries whenever you get paid or spend money on that stream (expenses included). SideStream tracks running totals, compares to your target, and shows trends over time per stream. Free users can have up to 3 streams; Premium is unlimited.
Can I track expenses too?
Yes. When logging an entry you can mark it as an expense. This lets you see net income per stream — useful if a stream has costs attached to it, like supplies for an Etsy shop or fuel for a delivery run.
What are recurring entries?
Recurring entries are income or expense items that repeat on a set schedule — weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. Set them up once and SideStream logs them automatically so you don't have to remember. Available on Premium.
How do goals work?
Set a goal with a name and target amount — emergency fund, holiday, new gear, anything. Track how much you've saved versus how much you still need. You can link income streams so every dollar logged toward that stream also counts toward the goal automatically. Goals can be paused and resumed at any time.
How does the weekly reminder work?
Once you've set up a stream and logged your first entry, SideStream will offer a weekly check-in reminder. You choose the day and time. One notification per week — tap it and you land straight on the income entry screen, ready to log in seconds. It's fully local, no backend, no tracking.
Can I use SideStream offline?
The app requires an internet connection to sync your data. If you're temporarily offline you may not be able to log entries until connectivity is restored. We're looking at offline support for a future update.
Can I export my data?
Yes — available on Premium. Export your income and expense history as a PDF or CSV. Handy come tax time or for your own records.

Is my data safe?
Your data is stored via Supabase with Row Level Security — only your account can read or write your data. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest. We don't sell your data, ever. Read the full Privacy Policy.
How do I sign in?
Sign in with your email and password, or use Google Sign-In. Your data syncs automatically across any device you sign into.
Can I use SideStream on multiple devices?
Yes. Sign in with the same account on any Android device and your streams, goals, and entries will sync automatically.
What if I lose my phone?
No data is lost. Everything is backed up to your account in the cloud. Just reinstall SideStream on your new device, sign in, and everything will be there.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings inside the app and tap "Delete Account". You'll be asked to confirm. Once confirmed, your account and all associated data are permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.

Is there a free trial?
Yes — every new Premium subscriber gets a 14-day free trial. No charge until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before then through Google Play.
How do I upgrade?
Tap any Premium prompt in the app, or go to Settings and select Upgrade. Choose monthly at $2.99/month, or annual at $26.99/year (that's 25% off). Billed securely through Google Play — no separate account needed.
Can I switch between monthly and annual?
Yes. You can switch plans through Google Play subscriptions. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing period.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, through Google Play subscriptions. You keep Premium access until the end of the current billing period, then revert to the free plan.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
When you cancel and revert to free, you'll need to get back within the free limits of 3 streams and 2 goals. You have two options: SideStream can automatically remove the excess (oldest first), or you can manually choose which streams and goals to delete yourself. Data that is deleted this way is gone permanently — resubscribing to Premium later will not restore it.
